Ever wish you could watch Live TV or movies on your phone without using up all of your data? Don’t want to deal with cable company bundles, contracts and credit checks when you live your life on-the-go? Well now that AT&T owns DirecTV, they are expanding the TV experience beyond the living room!
Starting this week, the new DirecTV is offering three services for streaming your favorite TV and movie channels to your phone and laptop! So, yes, this means you can binge watch your fave TV show, no matter where you are, and not use data! Mind. Blown. Yup… if you are an AT&T mobility customer, you can stream all the video you want through the DirecTV Now, Fullscreen and FreeView Apps with your toes in the sand or while riding the train and never have to worry about your phone bill! One hour of video streaming can use up to 900MB of data, so taking advantage of AT&T’s Data Free TV can save thousands of dollars.
With DirecTV Now you don’t have to sign a contract for a whole year, just pay monthly and have an internet connection and -BAM!- hassle-free TV watching from whatever device you choose.
The three new services are DirecTV NOW, Fullscreen and FreeVIEW. Let’s break them down one at a time…
DirecTV NOW is a streaming service that gives you access to your favorite TV shows, movies and on demand live sports without a need for a cable box. For a limited time DTV Now has an introductory offer where you can get the Go Big package for just $35 a month. While DVR is not a feature yet, AT&T says it will be coming in the near future so you will never miss your favorite shows.
Fans of HBO and Cinemax can add these channels for just $5 each per month in addition to the selected base programming package.
The Fullscreen service is an entertainment streaming service, like Netflix. This gives users access to an ever changing list of movies and TV shows and tons of exclusive content. It also has popular shows created by familiar faces from YouTube like Shane Dawson and Grace Helbig. Fullscreen offers a free one week trial for new users or if your a AT&T Mobile customer your plan may include it free for an entire year.
Finally, FreeView (previously DirecTV Preview) is a free, ad-supported streaming service that has its own original content from both Audience Network and Otter Media, (services like HBO GO). It also allows users to pay for content on demand if they don’t feel like watching ads or want to watch the newest movies.
Now that you’ve got the scoop, are you excited for your phone to become a mobile TV and movie paradise? Which show are you most excited to watch on a data-free binge!? Cut the cord today!
