If you have a smartphone, then you probably have Snapchat. But, did you know that you can make your own custom Snapchat filter?!

I know you all love those Snapchat filters and that’s why I’m so excited about this Snapchat hack! Anyone can now create and use their own personal “Snapchat geofilters.” These are called “geofilters” because they are custom filters only accessible for a specific location or range. For example, a Snapchat geofilter might be customized and programmed for something as intimate as a backyard BBQ or as big as an entire wedding.  What an interesting new way to monetize the Snapchat platform! Now, you can make any occasion special by creating your own themed filter, here’s how:

The designing process is really straight forward and, of course, is entirely digital.  Head over to Snapchat’s website and click on its geofilter page. There, you will find all the necessary guidelines and downloadable templates to help you build your own awesome filter.

Once you’ve created the perfect design, save it as a jpeg or png file.  Then, simply sign into your Snapchat account, upload the design and choose a geofilter area and timeframe. The bigger the area and longer the timeframe you choose, the higher the price will be. So, play around with it until you are happy with everything  The prices are ridiculously fair, in my opinion (you can cover a small party for $10-$15).  Then, you buy it and your filter is all set! It’s important to note that filters take a day or two to get approved. Make sure to submit as soon as you can and follow the simple guidelines (like no copyrighted images) so that it gets approved on time.
